Boss R ,260 - 290 High Performance Plenum and Throttle body.

Introducing  the BOSS R ® intake plenum for the Boss 260 and 290 Ford modular 32 valve V8 application, Designed and manufactured by Batten's Performance Tuning. The first company to offer a truly outstanding innovative designed upper Plenum Chamber.

  

The new hand built replacement plenum features a revised intake tract and revised throttle body that will deliver the very best of bottom end torque and top end power never achieved until now.

  

The table below depicts comparison between standard and 80mm throttle bodies compared to the twin bore throttle body as used on the Boss R® intake plenum.

Dyno result from GT fitted with Plenum after 300klm's of driving, Note a/f ratio shift.  Vehicle before figure was fitted with under drive pulley system, Pacemaker headers and cold air system. After dyno figure is of new plenum and no cold air induction and NO PCM enhancement. 20,000klm's on the odometer.

Also available for custom applications we have produced traditional cable throttle body based Boss R's which incorporate Idle Speed Control Valve provision, this is required for idle speed control by older EECIV and EECV Ford processors that do not support Drive By Wire.

Boss R Carbon Composite Plenum Chamber

   

With the success of the Boss R® Aluminium Intake plenum we decided to take it up a level. Introducing the new technologies of Carbon Composite with proven design and further flow testing it was possible to make gains from streamlining our current design.

A great new feature from the Carbon Composite version of the Boss R® are the heat isolation properties and the ability for us to free form in areas needed to make better flow.

It is important to note that this Plenum comes as an assembly including fuel rails that support 1050hp, Twin 60mm throttle body and a revised lower intake manifold that is turned 180deg from factory "this was necessary to take advantage of air flow designs".
